How do we understand well the terms of "Cutting", "Bonding", and "Peeling" in the packaging industry?

In English, terms related to "cutting" include "Cut", "Slit", and "Shear", which have specific meanings in the packaging industry. Similarly, "bonding" corresponds to the words "joint" and "sprinkle" in English, while "adhesion" is often translated as "adhesion", "bonding", and "bond". As for "peeling", its corresponding English vocabulary includes "peeling", "release", "delay", etc. These terms may seem similar in Chinese, but they carry different professional meanings in the packaging industry.
Firstly, 'Cut' refers to the process of cutting materials along the transverse direction of the coil, which is perpendicular to the direction of the coil. To achieve this operation, the machine used is called a "cutter". And 'Slit' means cutting the material along the longitudinal direction of the coil, that is, the length direction of the coil. Correspondingly, the machine used for longitudinal cutting of rolls is called a "Slitter". As for the "Shear", it uses two upper and lower blades similar to scissors to cut the coil, and this cutting device is called the "Sberingmechine".
Although both "Joint" and "Splice" contain the meaning of connection, their meanings vary depending on the context in which they are used. In the process of aluminum foil rolling, it is common to see the situation of re joining the aluminum foil fracture. This type of joint fracture operation carried out during the raw material manufacturing stage is called a "joint". And 'splice' refers to the situation where, after a specified length of material is used up, a new roll needs to be added for continuous supply. At this point, the ends of the two rolls of material must be joined together. This type of joint operation is called "splice".
In addition, "joint" and "splice" can be further divided into two different ways of joining: one is end-to-end docking, which tightly connects the two ends; Another method is overlapping and overlapping, which means that the two ends are overlapped and joined together. The butt joint method is commonly used for connecting thick cardboard and thick metal plates, while overlapping and overlapping are more suitable for the bonding needs of paper, glass paper, plastic film, and thin aluminum foil.
Next, let's take a look at several vocabulary related to conjugation. Firstly, there is' adhesion ', which describes a state of adhesion in which two objects are bonded to each other through molecular attraction. And 'adhesion' focuses on describing the adherence and persistence to a certain principle, rule, or policy. As for 'bond', it is usually used to refer to a close connection or relationship, which may be emotional or beneficial.
Let's talk about 'peeling' again. The meaning of this word is to peel off the skin, or more broadly, it refers to the process of removing one material from another. In product testing, we usually conduct the so-called "Peeling Test" to determine the bonding strength of a product made by bonding two materials together. And 'release' is a more general concept, referring to the phenomenon of peeling, such as the peeling paper attached to the back of pressure-sensitive self-adhesive labels, which is called 'release paper'.
When removing the release paper of the pressure-sensitive label and adhering it to a glass bottle or corrugated cardboard box, there may sometimes be a natural peeling problem caused by insufficient initial adhesion, which is commonly referred to as the "breaking" phenomenon and is a drawback of pressure-sensitive labels. However, with the development of hot melt pressure-sensitive adhesives, their excellent initial adhesion effectively solves this problem. In addition, the term 'delamination' is used to describe the interlayer separation phenomenon caused by adhesive failure in packaging containers made using adhesive technology.
